Duke New Music Ensemble [dnme]

[dnme], directed by Timothy Hambourger, presents "Music for Covers Only." The Duke New Music Ensemble [dnme] is in its sixth year as a performing ensemble at the Duke University Department of Music, bringing together undergraduate and graduate students in performing music written in the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as new works by Duke student composers. In this concert, [dnme] explores the idea of musical covers with a concert that pays tribute to the pop music of the past decade. Songs range from high adrenaline rock to ridiculous pop mash-ups. Featuring pieces by David Kirkland Garner, D. Edward Davis, Jamie Keesecker, Tim Hambourger, Vladimir Smirnov, Kenneth David Stewart, and Heidi Wait. Covering songs by Lady Gaga, Lil' Wayne, The Gregory Brothers, Beyoncé, Radiohead, Katy Perry, and Flo Rida.
