How to Build a Forest - Performance Art
Sponsor(s): Nicholas School-Miscellaneous Events
Cost: Free and open to the public
Inspired by the many losses incurred by New Orleans and other Gulf coast locations during Hurricane Katrina and the extended ecological and cultural crisis triggered by the BP oil spill, the performers use art and art-making as a platform to dramatize the deeply interconnected relationships between human beings and the natural world. Co-sponsored by Duke Council for the Arts, Duke Environmental Leadership Program, Duke's Theater Department, the Nicholas School of the Environment, and South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the NC Arts Council.
