LiveWISER Benefit Concert

Come watch seven of Duke's best student groups perform, while supporting girls' education at the WISER School in Muhuru Bay, Kenya! The LiveWISER concert will take place on Friday, October 5th from 6:30-7:30 pm in Reynolds Theater. The event will feature Sabrosura, Speak of the Devil, Rhythm and Blue, Out of the Blue, Dhamaka, and Momentum, and it will be hosted by DUI! Admission is free for Duke students! Get your tickets on the Plaza all this week. All money raised will benefit the WISER NGO, which was co-founded by Duke professor Dr. Sherryl Broverman. The organization runs a high school for girls in Muhuru Bay, representing the first opportunity for most girls in the community to pursue education after primary school. This is important, because research has shown that empowering women and girls positively impacts health and economic development, at both an individual and community level. The NGO is also involved in other education and public health initiatives in the Muhuru Bay community.
