She was an Emmy-nominated producer for NBC's Today Show. She has covered a diverse range of subjects, including the Academy Awards and Sarah Palin's Vice-Presidential Nomination in Alaska, as well as the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the Olympic Games in Athens and Salt Lake City. She also produced and directed the documentary, STARTING AT THE FINISH LINE: THE COACH BUEHLER STORY, about Duke's legendary Olympic Coach Al Buehler, narrated by executive producer Grant Hill. The film inspired the book, Starting at the Finish Line: Coach Al Buehler's Timeless Wisdom (Penguin), featured at the 2012 London Olympics. Lastly, Unell and Madeleine Sackler (THE LOTTERY) have teamed up to produce and direct DUKE 91 & 92: BACK TO BACK, a film reuniting the Duke men's basketball team on the 20th Anniversary of their back-to-back NCAA Championships from Executive Producers Grant Hill and Christian Laettner.
