Rare Music Concert with Adastra Duo: Music for Baroque Violin and Harpsichord
Adastra, a Period Instrument Duo, is a Cincinnati-based ensemble that communicates the spirit of Enlightenment through engaging performances of Baroque and Classical music on historical violin and keyboard instruments. The duo injects energy and passion into their performance of works from the early 17th century through the early Romantic era. Duo partners Jennifer Roig-Francoli and Vivian Montgomery strive to make each performance a unique event full of the creative mystery and excitement of the present moment. Jennifer Roig-Francoli enjoys a varied international career as a baroque violinist, modern violinist, and Alexander Technique teacher. Roig-Francoli served as associate concertmaster, soloist, and acting concertmaster of Apollo's Fire for many years, and is currently the violinist for the baroque chamber ensemble, Fioritura (Philadelphia), and visiting assistant concertmaster with the Vivaldi Project (Washington, DC). Vivian Montgomery holds awards from three prestigious harpsichord competitions and was the recipient of a Solo Recitalist Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. She has been on the faculty of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, teaching early keyboards and Baroque Performance since 2003. She earned her Master's degree in Early Keyboard Performance from the University of Michigan and completed the DMA in Historical Performance at Case Western Reserve University.
