Take it Personally: A Life in Dance
Sponsor(s): Dance Program
Cost: Free
Israeli choreographer Dana Ruttenberg discusses her life in Dance, and speaks frankly about how one might happen onto a life in the arts, how it is possible to understand an artist's work through his biography, and vice versa. How do personal themes echo in artistic choices and moves on the stage and beyond it? How can we reconsider myths of success, failure, satisfaction, creativity and magic? Why are two ideas better than one? Dana will screen clips from past and present works for the stage, as well as the dance film "Private i's". Location: SLIPPAGE Laboratory, 1516 Hull Avenue, rear.
