Lily Yeh

Are you interested in how art can create lasting social change? Would you like to delve into the historic connection between peace and art? Are you searching for a creative approach to economic and environmental justice? Or are you skeptical of all these questions and the tentative solutions? Lily Yeh¿s career has focused on these questions for the past 18 years. Her nonprofit organization, The Village of Arts and Humanities, is an organization of hundreds of volunteers, 20 staff persons, and a $1.3 million budget. She has led projects revitalizing slums in Nairobi, reviving cities in Rwanda, and even painted the Dandelion School in Beijing, a DukeEngage host organization. Her work transforms individuals and communities while inspiring peace through art. Lily will be sharing her insight, unique career path, and passion for art and peace with Duke students on Tuesday, February 26th at 7pm in McClendon 5. Come learn from this inspiring community artist and contribute to one of her upcoming projects.
