Cost: Free and open to the public
Jack P. Shonkoff, M.D., Julius B. Richmond FAMRI Professor of Child Health and Development and director of the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, will describe how recent advances in science are being leveraged to drive a movement to achieve greater impacts than existing best practices on the life prospects of young children living in poverty. This presentation will explore how improved understanding of the biological consequences of early adversity can catalyze enhanced theories of change and new intervention strategies in the quest for breakthrough outcomes in reducing disparities in learning, behavior, and health.
