Musical Celebration Commemorating The 50th Anniversary of The Integation of Duke University

Terence Blanchard is an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer, arranger, and film score composer. Since he emerged on the scene in 1980 with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra and then shortly thereafter with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Blanchard has been a leading artist in jazz. Nine years of collaboration between Palmetto Records Artist Kate McGarry and husband/guitarist Keith Ganz have produced a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album, five critically acclaimed recordings, and live performances that crackle with spontaneity and joy. Join the dynamic duo at Carolina Theater, Sept 21st, opening for Terence Blanchard and the John Brown Big Band in celebration of Duke Music Festival celebrating 50 years of Afro-American culture at Duke University.
