Duke Postdoctoral Services presents: "Getting What We Want Without Being A Jerk: The Elements of Assertiveness"

Whether the situation involves a PI, a lab colleague, an outside collaborator, or a potential employer, this program will outline the transferable assertive techniques to use in these interactions so that more productive communication can occur and conflicts can be resolved (or even potentially avoided!)ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Rhonda Sutton, PhD, LPC, is the Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at North Carolina State University. Rhonda has over 25 years experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her work centers on helping people to improve their lives and learn how to advocate for themselves.
