Work-in-progress film screening: Landscapes of the Heart

"Landscapes of the Heart: The Elizabeth Spencer Documentary Project" is a work-in-progress documentary sponsored by the Southern Documentary Fund. The film offers a personal window into an extraordinary woman's life and work, viewed through the prism of the Southern lineage that defined her. It is one woman's personal reflections on class, race, and the changing role of women during a defining century in the history of the South, and the nation."Landscapes of the Heart" will screen as part of CDS's Fresh Doc series. These workshop-style gatherings encourage conversation between filmmakers and audience members, and are meant to provide the filmmaker with feedback on the work, which is shown in all stages of the editing process, from in-progress to finished product. Rachel Raney of the Southern Documentary Fund will facilitate a conversation after the film.
