Film Viewing and Discussion with Pakistan's First Oscar Winner, Sharmeen Obaid!

Sharmeen is the producer of several documentaries that are crucial to raising awareness about sensitive social issues that plague Pakistan. Sharmeen won an Academy award in 2012 for her ground-breaking documentary, Saving Face. Prior to that, she won an Emmy award in 2010 for Children of the Taliban. She is particularly concerned with women's and children's issues, and has fast become a revered leader of liberal thought in a country that so severely lacks it. Sharmeen will give a speech and there will be a special viewing of her upcoming series Ho Yaqeen.Food and drinks will be provided.
