Increasing the Cone for MRI of the Brain

Annual lecture to honor Rowland Redington of GE for his contributions to MR and CT imaging. Dr. Koretsky is Chief, Laboratory of Functional and Molecular Imaging and Director of the NIH MRI Research Facility/Mouse Imaging Facility, NIH/NINDS. The Koretsky group has pushed MRI of the brain to higher magnetic fields, so it can be used to detect cytoarchitecture, image functional responses in single vessels, and detect the migration of new neurons to the level of single cells.
