CLG:Volunteering and Service Work in Durham - How to Get Started

Thought about getting involved in the Durham community but don¿t know where to start? Interested in improving your English skills while meeting and engaging with Durham community members? Have a passion for community service or volunteering? This session on service work and volunteering in Durham will seek to answer these questions for international students and their families. During the session you will learn about the city of Durham, hear about opportunities to do service through coursework at Duke, learn about DukeEngage and hear stories from other international students who have participated in service work in Durham. This is an interactive session with time for questions at the end. Resources to get you started will be provided to take home.Light dinner served.
