Professor Juan M. Caicedo. Presentation Title: "The Model Updating Cognitive System Framework". Model updating methodologies are used to improve numerical models of existing structures such that the behavior of the model matches that of an existing structure. Features of the existing structure are extracted based on experimental data and the model is modified to match these features. The Structural Dynamics and Intelligent Infrastructure laboratory (http://sdii.ce.sc.edu) is currently developing a framework to formally include the experience of an analyst in the model updating process.......
