As part of Duke University Medical Center¿s Bereavment Services and Grief Awareness Week (Nov 5-9)a ¿Day of the Dead¿ exhibitis on display in the Mars Gallery Display case from Oct 26 ¿ November 9th Description: Posters, artifacts and an assembled altar (ofrenda) provide a look at the culturally diverse ritual of mourning and visiting with the deceased found throughout Latin America, especially in Mexico. The display is co-sponsored by Bereavement Services, the Bereavement Advisory Council, and the Duke Program in Latino/a Studies in the Global South.On 11/6, Tues from 2:30 -3:30pm, a presentation titled ¿Visiting With the Deceased¿ will be offered by Jenny Snead Williams (Exec. Dir.- Duke Program in Latino/s Studies) examining rituals and traditions of the Mexican Day of the Dead, followed by time for discussion and Q&A.
