Salon: An Evening of Poetry with the Archive

To celebrate the newest release of The Archive, we will host an event to showcase poetry on Duke's campus. Undergraduate, graduate student and faculty poets will give readings, student musicians will perform, and student artwork will decorate the walls. von der Hayden Pavilion will be filled with hors d'oeuvres and beer. Join us, grab a copy of the new Archive, and celebrate Duke's poets. More information about the night's schedule can be found on facebook. Faculty: Joe Donahue, Nathaniel Mackey, Fred Moten; Graduate Students: Maggie Zurawski, Pete Moore; Undergraduates: Dan Fishman and potentially Tony Gouw and others TBD; Student Musicians: Lucas Spangher (cello) playing Sonata for solo cello by Weinberg, and Julie-O by Mark Summer of Turtle Island String Quartet; Kate Pearson (violin) playing Partita in E major for solo violin and Gavotte en Rondeau by J.S. Bach. Reception to follow. ***Come early, at 6pm, and hear the Duke student a cappella group, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, a Duke Arts Festival event.***
