Friendship Matters: Contributions to Development and Well-Being in Childhood, Adolescence, and Early Adulthood
Research documents the far-ranging effects of friendships on social, emotional development and academic development. Dr. Asher will summarize these effects and then describe what we have learned from research with children, adolescents, and college students about the social cognitions and social competencies that are involved in responding to some of the most challenging "tasks of friendship".
