Human Frontier Science Program

Fit the niche, avoid the pitfalls. Competitive HFSP grant proposals. As a funding organization that addresses the paradox that science is international while its institutions and funding organizations are mostly nationally or even regionally organized, HFSP focuses funding on international and intercontinental scientific collaborations. HFSP promotes international collaboration in the spirit of science without borders. Novel, innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to basic research (with priority given to high risk research) are invited, with a focus on scientists who are early in their careers. This talk will explain the mission of HFSP, the scientific ¿niche¿ that is supported, the common pitfalls that make applications unsuccessful and some practical advice on how to increase your odds of success.SPEAKER: Dr. Carmen Gervais is Director of Fellowships at the Human Frontier Science Program, a prestigious international funding organization renowned for supporting highly innovative research in newly emerging areas in the basic life sciences. For more information: www.hfsp.org.
