Hyunjoon Shin, Seminar III - Return or Circulation: Korean Diaspora, Going Home?
Hyunjoon Shin is Associate Professor at The Institute for East Asian Studies of Sungkonghoe University in Seoul, South Korea. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Seoul National University. His research interests span the nexus of popular culture, international migration and urban space. He has published widely both in scholarly and popular media venues on the intersections of cultures in Korea and East Asia. He was a Visiting Scholar at National University of Singapore, Leiden University in the Netherlands, and Leuven University in Belgium. He is currently a member of International Advisory Editors of Popular Music and a member of the Editorial Collective of Inter-Asia Cultural Studies.
