Faculty Media Training Workshop

Event Image
Wednesday, November 18, 2015
9:00 am - 11:00 am

This session is part of a new effort to expand international media coverage of Duke research related to energy and the environment, but is open to -- and would be beneficial to -- all scholars interested in communicating with external audiences.

The session will provide:

Helpful guidance for communicating your research and explaining complex topics to non-academic audiences

A roadmap for what to do when a reporter calls, and things you can do to make working with media a positive experience for you and the reporter

An opportunity for mock interviews and constructive critique

Insights from colleagues who have worked with reporters around the world in a variety of contexts

An opportunity to make sure Duke's communications team knows about your work and research that could be of interest to reporters here and abroad.
