Nahua-native speakers Eduardo & Abelardo de la Cruz

Two Nahua-native speakers, Eduardo de la Cruz and Abelardo de la
Cruz, from Mexico, will visit Duke to discuss how they apply an emic approach
to their research, which centers on maize culture and spirituality
in different regions of Mexico, and how they employ historical,
linguistic, and ethnographic methods. Both of these scholars
completed their Masters theses at the Universidad Autónoma de
Zacatecas in nahuatl in 2016. The academic facilitators for their
work are Dr. John Sullivan, with affiliations at the Universidad
Autónoma de Zacatecas, Yale University, and Dr. Justyne Olko at
the University of Warsaw. Presented by the UNC-Duke Consortium working group Interdisciplinary Pathways for the Production of Knowledge "Diálogo de Sabers"
