Teaching and Learning Seminars

How can you keep your course focused on the learning goals you have for your students? How can you ensure that your students are effectively engaged with your course material, and learning to apply it in relevant and discipline-appropriate ways? This working session will focus on creating course learning goals, designing assessments aligned with goals, and creating grading rubrics for subjective assessments. During each of three 30-minute workshop portions, participants will work with their own courses and participate actively in creating materials. This session is designed for those teaching their own courses, not for staff who assist faculty in supporting courses. Attendees should be responsible for the design and creation of their course, and in a position to make design decisions for the course.
