A High Priest in a Greek Temple: The Asylum of Onias III at Daphne
We are delighted to be welcoming Dr Ahearne-Kroll to this event. Dr. Ahearne-Kroll is Assistant Professor in the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies at the University of Minnesota. She received her doctorate from the University of Chicago Divinity School in Biblical Studies, specializing in Hebrew Bible and Second Temple Judaism. Her research focuses on religious practices in the Hellenistic and early Roman periods and how these practices operated at local levels, especially in terms of political power and identity formation. She is currently completing a book on the ancient Jewish novel, ¿Joseph and Aseneth.¿Our program will start as usual at 6pm in the Graduate Student Lounge with a meal.
