Rare Music Concert: Tango for Two: Old and New Music for Two Harpsichords
Beverly Biggs, Elaine Funaro, and Rebecca Pechefsky perform harpsichord duos by Krebs, McLean, and Janello.
Beverly Biggs is Artistic Director of "Baroque & Beyond," a period-music concert series based in Chapel Hill, NC. She appears regularly with North Carolina Baroque Orchestra.
Elaine Funaro is both the President of the Historical Keyboard Society of North America (HKSNA) and the Artistic Director of Aliénor, the American-based international competition for new harpsichord music. She has premiered pieces on five continents including concerts in Amsterdam, Rome, Sydney, Boston, Hong Kong and Tokyo. In addition to her solo recitals at the Smithsonian Institution, the Library of Congress, and in other notable venues, Funaro has been a frequent collaborator with symphonies and chamber ensembles.
Rebecca Pechefsky has performed in Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Hall, and the 18th-century Morris-Jumel Mansion, where she is co-director of the early-music series Music at Morris-Jumel. She has also participated in the series Bach at Zion. She has been heard at the Boston Early Music Festival and in the concert series of the San Diego Harpsichord Society; the Harpsichord Center (Pasadena and Brentwood, California); the Miami Bach Society; and others.
