Undergraduate Philosophy Colloquium: Does Neuroscience Undermine Free Will?

Tuesday, February 23, 2016
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free will seems to be one of the most integral parts of the human experience. We go about our daily lives making certain choices and decisions, attributing these to our own free will. But at the most fundamental level, how do we actually choose to do something? What actually happens in the brain when we make a decision? Tackling the question of whether neuroscience undermines free will is Duke's very own Walter Sinnott-Armstrong, Professor of Philosophy and expert on cognitive neuroscience. Join Duke's Undergraduate Philosophy Society for a fun and enlightening conversation on one of life's most important issues.
