Polish intellectuals such as Leszek Ko¿akowski, Andrzej Walicki, and Zbigniew Brzezi¿ski played a significant role in shaping scholarship on the Soviet Union in postwar Europe and the United States. Professor Nowak will expand on the notion of the "Polish Connection" in American Sovietology by examining the influence of other Polish and Polish Jewish scholars -- Adam Ulam, Leopold Labedz, and Richard Pipes -- on Cold War discourse
