12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Robert G. Cole, Ph.D., US Army CERDEC, QUEST Program PI, S&TCD, APG, MD
Computer Systems Engineering Seminar

Army deployed tactical networks face extreme and unique challenges. The networks must self-deploy, must operate in overtly hostile (cyber, kinetic, environment) situations. The networks are currently built upon proprietary systems with are difficult and costly to integrate, operate and maintain. This talk will identify critical challenge areas for research and development. This talk will focus on work ongoing in the speaker's research and development program to address several of the more critical technology areas, including improved network architectures, new scalable control algorithms (routing and broadcasting), new network management protocols and management models and improved data transport built upon robust Disruption Tolerant Networking concepts.http:
