State solicitors general play a vital role in protecting the people of their state. Solicitors general are the chief appellate advocates of state government, and therefore, deal with some of the most compelling and complex legal issues facing their states. Join panelists Ryan Park, Matt Sawchak, and Bill Marshall and learn about what solicitors general do, the kinds of legal issues they deal with, and how they use the law to enact progressive change. Ryan Park is the current Solicitor General of North Carolina. Matt Sawchak, JD/LLM '89, is the former Solicitor General of North Carolina.
