ALHAMDU | MUSLIM FUTURISM: Exhibition

MIPSTERZ are proud to announce the world premiere of their "ALHAMDU | MUSLIM FUTURISM" exhibition presented by Duke Arts and hosted at the Rubenstein Arts Center at Duke University in collaboration with the Duke Islamic Studies Center. The exhibition will be open from August 16, 2022, through September 18, 2022, and is FREE for all to attend.

MIPSTERZ have spent the past two years curating artwork related to #MuslimFuturism and the five sub-themes of #imagination, #community, #identity, #resistance, and #liberation. This collection features the voices of Muslim, Muslim-adjacent, and allied artists in a wide variety of media and forms; audiences can expect to be immersed in a vibrant, bold, and multifaceted vision of a Muslim Future as realized by over 150 creatives.

During the month-long exhibition, MIPSTERZ will also be hosting a series of local public programming, including a #MIPSTERZ "Spotlight Series" pop-up at NorthStar Church for the Arts, panel discussions featuring local academics, and film screenings related to the themes. Stay tuned for the full list of performers and presenters!

The "ALHAMDU | MUSLIM FUTURISM" exhibition is made possible by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art's Building Bridges Program. The mission of the Building Bridges Program is to advance relationships and increase understanding between Muslims and their neighbors for mutual well-being. Additional support is provided by Duke Arts, Rubenstein Center for the Arts at Duke University, the Center for Afrofuturist Studies, and Colorado College.
