Women in the Public Sphere
This panel will offer a conversation on the role of women in the public sphere in contemporary Turkey. Turkey, a country of nearly 80 million, offers a case study on the role of Islam, multi-culturalism, minorities, diversity and the role(s) of women within these contexts. Despite turmoil in the country and the Middle East region more broadly, women in Turkey continue to play a vital role in the public sphere.
