Science in the Movies: Happy Birthday, Frankenstein!

Science in the Movies Happy Birthday, Frankenstein
Thursday, April 19, 2018
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Science in the Movies

Celebrate Frankenstein's 200th birthday by exploring "Frankenfilms" in the latest installment of SCONC's "Science in the Movies" series.

We'll be exploring the science and bioethics behind Dr. Frankenstein and his creation, as portrayed in cinema over the decades. Our panel of experts will include:

Film Scholar Marsha Gordon (NCSU)
Geneticist Rodolphe Barrangou (NCSU)
Literary Scholar Deanna Koretsky (Spelman College)
Geneticist/Bioethicist Misha Angrist (Duke University)
As always, this event is free and open to the public (and we'll even provide the popcorn and drinks!)

Join us on Thursday, April 19th from 7:00-8:30 PM. The event will be held in the Griffith Theater in Duke University's Bryan Center.

This event is organized and sponsored by SCONC (Science Communicators of North Carolina) and the Duke Initiative for Science & Society, and is part of the North Carolina Science Festival.
