Nature, Humans, and Purpose

The usual way to discuss human evolution is by proceeding from the general (nature, biological and non-) to the particular (humans). Because 'the usual' has run its course, Dr. Bejan will begin with everything that lives around and inside of us. He will show that if we question our lives as human beings, our urges and habits, including the choices we make unwittingly, we can learn plenty about the science of evolution and the presence of "purpose" in nature.
The lecture will be based chiefly on his books:
Design in Nature: How the Constructal Law Governs Evolution in Biology, Physics, Technology and Social Organization (Doubleday, 2012)
The Physics of Life: The Evolution of Everything (St. Martin's Press, 2016)
