Alison Rowley is a Professor in the Department of History at Concordia University in Montreal and the President of the Canadian Association of Slavists. She is the author of Putin Kitsch in America, and Open Letters: Russian Popular Culture and the Picture Postcard, 1880-1922. She is also co-chairing the organizing committee for the 10th world congress of the International Council for Central and East European Studies, which will be held in early August 2020.
