About the speaker: Wen-Hsin Yeh is a historian of culture, society and politics in late imperial and modern China including Taiwan. Her research examines modernity in 20th-century China and the consequences of systemic disequilibrium. Her domains of research include modern Chinese educational institutions, communist Chinese political thought, urban history, and China during the global World War II.
