Dr. Zhongxia Jin, Executive Director for China at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and former Director-General of the Research Institute for the People's Bank of China will speak on "Rethinking Development: China's Financial Prospects and the Future of its Currency."

DCID director Indermit Gill and DUCIGS director Giovanni Zanalda will lead an interactive Q&A session following the presentation. The series will be introduced by Dr. Judith Kelley of the Sanford School of Public Policy.

A light lunch will be served before the discussion, beginning at 12:15 p.m.

The Rethinking Development Seminar Series is a flagship program of the Duke Center for International Development (DCID) at the Sanford School of Public Policy. Starting this year, DCID is partnering with the Duke University Center for International and Global Studies (DUCIGS) to feature speakers with exciting new approaches to development. The speakers are well-known thinkers and development practitioners from large, emerging economies who will discuss topics from addressing global uncertainties in developing countries, to alternative approaches to planning mega-cities.
