Duke Campus Farm Alternative Spring Break

Event Image
Thursday, February 18, 2016
9:50 am - 10:50 am

The Duke Campus Farm invites you to apply to our alternative spring break program, now in its fifth year. This will be an engaged and experiential exploration of many facets of the food system, including production, distribution and disposal, consumption, and food access. We'll delve into our own foodshed here in the Piedmont and into its connections with broader social, environmental and economic systems.

Our team will provide you with some ground-level context for food-systems issues by visiting and working with farms and community-based organizations in the Durham area and by sharing conversations with experts who work in a wide range of fields -- academic fields, political fields, and the kinds filled with vegetables. Each night, a smaller group of you will prepare dinner for the group as a whole, and for our invited guests.

Please see the link below for more details and to submit an application.
