Social Determinants of Health Performance

The DUSON Community Health Improvement Partnership Program (D-CHIPP) M-PACT grant (Mobile Prevention and Care Team) presents the first of a series of performances aimed to strengthen understanding among Duke faculty and staff of social determinants of health.

The performances will expand practical applications of health literacy. The production was developed and scripted to depict realistic interactions between patients/care providers and faculty/students. These scripts are designed to increase awareness, promote dialogue, and implement strategic solutions around conflicts and miscommunications rooted in racism, sexism, classism, and other aspects of social identity.

Learning outcomes will focus on recognizing discriminatory behaviors, improving communication, and nurturing a culture of respect and humility.
