Racial and ethnic health disparities undermine our healthcare system and our communities, especially for the Latino population. Economic challenges, language barriers, implicit/explicit bias, political and national immigration issues, the harsh policing of immigrants, and more impact the population's health and effect the level and frequency of medical care Latinos receive. Who is their advocate? Who should be? What is leadership's collective stake in these outcomes? And why should we care?

Join us for the annual Hispanic Heritage Month program as Mauricio Castro co-founder of North Carolina Congress of Latino Organizations explains how the above named circumstances influence patient care, determine health outcomes, and play a pivotal role in the development and perpetuation of health inequalities among Latinos.
