A conversation with Dikgang Moseneke, Deputy Chief Justice Emeritus and former Chancellor of the University of the Witwatersrand and Anne-Maria Makhulu, Associate Prof. of Cultural Anthropology and African & African American Studies, Duke University.
The emergence of #FeesMustFall and #RhodesMustFall, campus-based hashtag movements, in 2015-2016 went some way to interrogating the conditions of political freedom in South Africa by demanding access to free education and the decolonization of the university and its curriculum.
