"The Art of Political Murder" Film Screening
Join the Duke Human Rights Center for a screening of the film "The Art of Political Murder," the second film in the 2023-2024 Rights! Camera! Action! Film Series Based on Francisco Goldman's book and executive produced by Oscar-winner George Clooney and Grant Heslov, this film tells the story of the 1998 murder of Guatemalan human rights activist Bishop Juan Gerardi and the subsequent investigation by the church that uncovered a web of conspiracy and murder, entangling the upper echelons of the government.
Join the Duke Human Rights Center for a post-screening panel discussion about the film and human rights in Latin America, featuring Dr. Nina Balmaceda of Duke Divinity School and Emily Taylor, doctoral candidate at UNC Chapel Hill.
